PEIRAMATIKO SCHOLEIO PANEPISTIMIOU THESSALONIKIS
The Model Experimental School of the University of Thessaloniki is a special public school which shares close ties with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. It was founded by Alexandros Delmouzos, professor of Pedagogy, in 1934 to implement his ideas on School of Work. Teachers are appointed directly by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, Culture and Sports,with the aim to ensure high quality education. PSPTh has kindergarten, Primary school, Gymnasium and Lyceum. Particularly in Secondary Education (Gymnasium-Lower Secondary and Lyceum, Upper Secondary) there are 300 students and 37 teachers. The school is a particular kind of public school which is EXPERIMENTAL in which teachers are well qualified (MSc, MED, PhD).
In the school there are various clubs which aim to particular issue and deeper understanding of their topics. Particularly the Volunteens GROUP includes the 2/3 of the school students and its members are 13-18 years old. This group was set up in 2013 by 16 students and 2 teachers and today has 200 students and more than 5 teachers. Volunteers focus on issues about relationship, citizenship, personal development, Europe, Health, and Environmental (mainly).
